Blog Post Comments
Sep 4th

I love when readers comment on my blog posts. It lets me know that real people are reading my writing and feel strongly enough about it to take time out of their day to comment. StatPress may let me know how many visitors and pageviews I get, but no amount of visitors rivals the thrill I get when a comment message pops up. I decided to write a blog post featuring my favourite comments from both this site and my old one because I appreciate them so much. I plan on making a post like this every few months, so be sure to post a comment on upcoming posts (and please include your name)!

Just what can it be with regards to perusing things through someone else’s view point that provides such an excellent perspective? This and other articles on your website here surely provide some stuff to consider. Oddly enough, Bing brought me to your site when I was taking care of physical fitness and health and wellbeing related research. It’s always my pleasure browsing through and I hope you keep things up. Thanks again!
Chakyun responded to my Charice post: Charice is really a telented and versatile singer. She maybe not popular as Miley Cyrus, Justin Bieber or Jonas Brothers for the moment but she is truly coming up in that stage of her life. Her talent certainly not belong in this group, I do believe her talent is beyond compare to most of young talented singers of today or Glee. She just turned 18 and she has lots of time to prepare for the big future. With her mother guiding her plus those respected people behind and supporting her back, how can she go wrong?
Response to “My Life as Liz” post (on old site): Pretty nice post. I just stumbled upon your blog and wanted to say that I have really enjoyed browsing your blog posts. In any case I’ll be subscribing to your feed and I hope you write again soon!
Being a blogger is like being in charge of your own personal insane asylum.
Chris wrote (on old site): Greetings, I like your blog. This is a nice site and I wanted to post a comment to let you know, good job! Thanks Chris
Jerry Frungillo commented on my wedding show addiction post (on old site): You choose not to watch “Masters”? Come on give us a try. I’d like your opinion of our show. It would be interesting to find out what a real wedding show expert thinks.
Thanks

When you are having a bad day, a nice way to forget your woes is YouTube. There are some fantastic videos out there that are sure to make you smile, but to get to these videos you have to sift through makeup tutorials, amateur musicians, dog tricks and weirdos. So if you are in need of a smile right now, then I have just the thing for you! Here are three great YouTubers sure to make your day a little brighter:
#1: ItsKingsleyBitch
Twitter: @kingsleyyy
Funny because: This guy is irritated by everything and his complaints are hilarious! He tells it like it is, which keeps me laughing. *language may offend.
#2 KassemG
Twitter: @kassemg
Funny because: He is completely inappropriate and offensive. Think of Kassem as YouTube’s Family Guy. Also, as a journalism student, I love his “California on..” videos, where he interviews people on the street about various topics. His interviews are like a journalism streeter gone terrible wrong and the result is laugh-out-loud funny. *May offend.
#3 kevjumba
Twitter: @kevjumba.
Funny because: Kevin is very sweet in his videos and his quirky guest star, his father, parallels his sense of humour. I started watching kevjumba YouTube videos long before Poppa Jumba made appearances, but now I tune in for his dad’s infectious laugh.
Hope these videos put a smile on your face! Are you fan of these YouTube stars?

I Tip My Hat to You, Jessica Roy

There is something exhilarating about finding a good blog. Good blogs are out there, but, unfortunately, they are buried beneath a pile of bad ones. The outside world equivalent of finding a good blog is finding a needle in a haystack.
Fortunately, I found that needle! The blog is http://jessicakroy.com/blog-page/ and reading it is like a hot bubble bath or a delicious cup of tea; cozy, warm and comforting.
The blogger’s name is Jessica Roy and, I’ll admit, I’m the last person in the blogging world to notice her. Roy is a fantastic writer and is extremely open about her personal life, which makes for a blog that I can’t resist.
I came across Roy’s blog via VanityFair.com. As a voracious reader of the website, I decided to type “literary scandals” into the search bar because, yes, I am the type of person that types “literary scandals” into the Vanity Fair website (I highly recommend the 2006 piece on J.T. LeRoy.) Any way, I decided to read Jim Windolf’s article, “You’ve Got (Hate) Mail: The Curious Case of Keith Gessen and Emily Gould,” which detailed the two young New York writing sensations. In the piece, Windolf mentioned Roy on the fourth page of the April 2009 web exclusive, writing, “Jessica Roy, a 20-year-old student at New York University, was there. She had begun to get attention for her own blog, Jess & Josh Talk About Stuff, which she ran with friend and fellow N.Y.U. student Josh Becker.”
A 20-year-old mentioned in a VanityFair.com piece? I was intrigued. I searched for Jess & Josh Talk About Stuff, which was long gone, and then I searched for Roy. She still exists in the blogosphere and thank goodness for that, because Roy’s blog is fantastic. She writes about her boyfriends (both past and present), N.Y.U., her future career, life in the Big Apple, depression and literature. Roy divulges her personal life with the detail of a memoirist and I read her entire blog in one spurt of I’ve found a good blog glee.
For those that enjoy reading memoirs, I highly recommend checking out Roy’s blog, as it is a wonderful read. And as a fellow blogger, I tip my hat to you, Jessica Roy.
